Katy Kostakis‘ lifelong love of astrology and personal journey would eventually lead to her own spiritual awakening as an adult. Raised Greek Orthodox (though she had an inkling as a teenager that it might not be for her), it was while exploring other types of spirituality during a particularly difficult time in her life and cultivating her studies in the metaphysical and the occult that Katy found her connection to the mysteries of nature to be undeniable. Embracing her new path, she has been a practicing Eclectic Solitary Wiccan for over 15 years. She is of Greek descent and staying true to her eclectic nature, Katy honors the Greco-Roman pantheon, as well as deities from the Celtic, Hindu, and Egyptian traditions. She works regularly with tarot, astrology, crystals, herbs, candles and oils, and is planning to continue to learn about other pantheons, folk magick practices and superstitions.
A longtime freelance journalist, she has written for such publications as Entertainment Weekly, Turner Classic Movies, Paste Magazine, SheKnows, Simply Recipes, The Spruce, The Midst, YourTango, and Den of Geek. Check out Katy’s professional work at www.katykostakis.com. She is also currently in the early stages of writing several books.
A native of Massachusetts, Katy lives outside of Boston and can be frequently seen in Salem.
