Astrology has always fascinated me, as well as the masses, and one inevitable question everyone gets if they even utter a passing interest in it is: What’s your sign?

Your Sun Sign in what astrological sign the Sun was in when you were born, but that’s just the beginning. Each sign is assigned to an element (Earth, Air, Fire, Water), energy or duality (Masculine or Feminine), and quality or quadruplicity (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable). For example, as an August-born Leo, I’m a Fixed Masculine Fire Sign.

Earth signs are often grounded and matter-of-fact,

Fire signs are often passionate and fiery.

Air signs are often contemplative and ponderous.

Water signs are often emotional and sentimental.

🔴THE DUALITIES🔵

Masculine signs are often action-oriented and extroverted, while feminine signs are often emotionally-oriented and introverted. This is not completely binding, as other astrological chart factors contribute. But for the most part, its pretty consistent. Though signs are divided into Masculine and Feminine energies, these do not reflect gender or sexuality.

❗THE QUALITIES❗

Cardinal signs are regarded as the leaders and instigators of each astrological season. Fixed signs usually keep things steady and organized (and are, truthfully, very stubborn. I should know. 😆). Mutable signs are adaptable to most situations, picking up whatever slack is needed, and adjust accordingly.
